Car history:
1969 Corvette Sport Coupe, 350/350hp L-46 engine, Matching #'s, 4 Speed Manual Transmission, Factory AC, Power Steering, Tank Sticker. Photos of restoration work. 80k Actual Miles. Owned by same family since early seventies.
This Corvette was owned by the same person for over 3 decades and it still has most of the original equipment still installed from the factory and fully operational. All the original hardware appears to be intact, we were told it is the compressor which will be replaced if it is needed and then the rest of the system will be checked for correct operation. This Corvette is a joy to drive. The 350 horsepower engine really likes to accelerate. It gave me that tingly sensation when shifting up through the gears. Great power range from a dead stop up through 70 mph plus. The engine starts right up and runs strong. The transmission/clutch, etc. shifts smoothly, the rear end does not chatter when cornering like many do from this vintage. The electrical equipment is in working order including lights, wipers, dash, radio, gauges, etc. All exterior body panels are original and straight except the big block hood (aftermarket). The paint is also very nice but has a cloudy spot above the driver's side rear wheel opening. Hard to see but it's there if you look close. The frame is in very good shape with no rust in the prone areas. The birdcage (metal frame surrounding the interior cabin; a-b pillars) shows no rust. The cars been down here in Florida for a long time so it doesn't have many rust issues that cars from the northern parts of the country are prone to have. It does have the correct brand and name bias ply tires. They'll score you some points at a Corvette car show but if you plan on driving at higher speeds often you may want to save these for show and put some later issue radials on her for daily use. Over all this car is in very nice shape. I would detail the engine which is 85% correct. It needs cleaning, valve cover gaskets (seeping NOT leaking currently), Maybe take some of the natural metal parts out of the engine bay and clean them or paint them and reinstall them. Colors from the trim plate. 80,700 miles. September 19, 2008.
